Enjoy This Maple Grilled Salmon And Do Right By Your Heart
February is American Heart Month, meaning it is a crucial time to bring awareness to the fact that cardiovascular disease is the top killer of men and women in the United States. This disease is preventable with healthy lifestyle choices, so protect your heart by choosing heart healthy recipes. To get you started, try great salmon recipes like this one! To make it, you need:
- 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons of fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup of rice wine vinegar
- 4 6 oz. salmon fillets, skinned
- Salt & pepper
In a large, zip-top plastic bag add the maple syrup, orange juice and vinegar. Add the fillets and shake to coat them. Let marinate in the refrigerator for three hours.
Preheat your grill to medium-high. Remove the fish from the plastic bag and pour the marinade into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for five minutes, or until it has reduced to 2 tablespoons.
Grill the fish for four minutes on each side, or until done. Baste it with the marinade as you grill. Plate the fillets and season them with salt and pepper. Enjoy!
