The city of Elmira continues to celebrate its 150th Anniversary! Throughout the entire year, community events allow Elmira residents to appreciate the longevity of our beautiful city! September 1st– October 1st: Sesquicentennial Visual Arts Exhibition – Community Arts

October 11th: Mountain Music Festival – Tanglewood Nature Center
Tanglewood Nature Museum, 433 Coleman Ave., Elmira, New York
From 1:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday, October 11th, community members are invited to celebrate both the natural and cultural heritage of our beautiful city through a historical reenactment. There will be storytellers, fiddlers, chainsaw carvers, arts and crafts, and much more! Bring the family and educate everyone on Chemung County’s history!
November 28th: Annual Holiday Parade – Downtown Elmira
Take a stroll through Downtown Elmira with your family and friends to show your appreciation for our beautiful city. The parades theme this year is past, present, and future of Elmira.
December 7th: 30th Annual Home for the Holidays
Near Westside Historic District in Elmira
From 12:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, December 7th, Elmira residents can enjoy this self-guided tour through which the architectural history of the city is explored. Hosted by the Near Westside Neighborhood Association, Inc., this annual event is one that no Elmira resident should miss out on!
